_The Awana program at Bowling Green Alliance Church is an action-paced program for boys and girls ages three through grade 6.
Awana stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed
(2 Timothy 2:15). Awana is a Bible-centered club built around scripture
memorization, Bible story/devotional time, and a a time of unique games
with plenty of fun!
All our clubs meet weekly on
Wednesday evenings, 6:45 to 8:15 pm, September through April. While your
child is not required to attend the functions of our church, all of our
church services and opportunities are available to your family.
First-time
clubbers receive an "entrance test" for their particular club. After
completing this test, they are eligible to earn awards as a member of
their club and will be asked to buy a uniform and handbook. If the cost
would be a financial burden to your family, other arrangements can be
made. The cost for the uniform and handbook is as follows:
Each clubber should also bring 25 cents weekly dues to help defray costs of the program.
The
entrance test and handbooks are divided into small sections. In order
to keep the clubbers progressing in their books, we encourage them to
recite from memory AT LEAST ONE SECTION at each club meeting. It would
be a big help if you as parents would help your child to memorize
handbooks sections during the week so that they can come prepared to
recite to his or her leader.
Thank you for
entrusting your child to us. The staff of over 20 trained leaders will
do their best to provide a balanced physical, mental, social, and
spiritual program for your child.
